Psychotherapy, or talking therapy, can help with a broad range of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. In psychotherapy I will gently help you to manage upsetting feelings, function better and improve feelings of well-being and self-worth.

A key requirement of Psychotherapy is confidentiality and the therapy session provides a safe time and place for you to discuss your concerns with a trained and impartial professional.

Psychotherapy can be offered over a relatively short period to focus on immediate issues, or a longer time over several months to address more longstanding or complex problems.

Psychotherapy sessions may be conducted with an individual, family or a couple, and can help both children and adults. Sessions are typically held once a week and last for one hour. Together, we will be actively involved in psychotherapy, setting realistic goals and committing to achieving the results you desire.

There are several approaches to Psychotherapy and most emphasise the importance of the therapeutic relationship in healing or achieving positive change. My own approach to psychotherapy is always based on offering a warm, sincere, professional and confidential relationship. In our early discussions my aim is to get a real understanding of your concerns and then consider the best way for us to work together going forward.
